18 Feb Your answer may be within the Silence
In today’s world of managing hectic schedules and time commitments, it’s easy to forget to put a daily spiritual practice on the agenda. But in fact, a consistent practice may be what you’re needing in order to hear intuitive guidance about your current situation.
It’s no secret that the Universe throws unexpected curve balls. So what do you do when this happens? Do you take a walk in nature or exercise at the gym? Read Scripture? Think too much? Retreat and go within?
I know from experience that when I’m faced with a dilemma my mind automatically goes into a “work frenzy zone” to find the answer. But this process seldom works because the mind only knows what is familiar, which is based on past experiences. So the key to transform a challenging situation and heal an aspect of Self is to notice subconscious patterns as they’re arising and give yourself an attitude adjustment in the NOW.
My go-to process for immediately changing the trajectory of my thoughts is to put myself in “timeout” and do something I enjoy such as yoga, drinking coffee or seeing my horse. This is valuable time spent because more often than not, God works out the details faster when I surrender and way more efficiently than I could have imagined.
As my spiritual teacher often reminded me, “infinite patience produces immediate results.”
So how does meditating or quieting the mind benefit you?
Set time aside for yourself today and begin to notice how the Silence flows.
Be kind to yourself,
Angela
